The story of a woman with three daughters who falls in love with a man with three sons.... - oh, wait, that's the Brady Bunch! Sorry! I guess this is just the ramblings of a woman caught between sanity and chaos. Join me?

A private pause...

Sorry I have been absent, but if you know me personally and know my family, then you know we are all grieving and taking care of our loved ones.

I will return soon hopefully with lots of nice pictures of the kids and Grandma and I in Toronto.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Never have I felt so proud...

Never have I felt more proud of Sarah then I do now. You see, she has embraced her creative side! She went to Michaels and signed up for craft hour. She chose a big canvas and was given as much paint as she wanted! Well, as you can see, she had a ball! She has yet to title the work, but I think it is one of many to come. I am going to hang it so that she can see it up when she gets back from her dad's.

Enjoy!

And she is taking bids on this particular work, starting at 4000 dollars.

The pictures.....

Here are the graphic details.....

Hi friends...
Today was a great day! Anne came down from Deep River. We had planned to spend the day together, and had spoke of getting tattooed, to celebrate our anniversary. You see, Anne and I have been friends for 25 years in September. Yup, since we were 8 yrs old. That is a long time.

We decided to go to Kingston to do some shopping, and to get inked there, but we soon found that many places there were fully booked up. It wasn't looking good.... I suggested Jonzies in Trenton, and gave them a call. We got in. I was actually quite nervous, and really didn't think that I would have gone through with it. I was supposed to go first, so that I couldn't chicken out after seeing Anne in pain. Well, she had to go first. She got a heart with her son's initials in it. It was a little larger than she had planned, but it really turned out nice. Then it was my turn. I had chosen something small - the Chinese symbols for "blessed" - I thought it was fitting, as I truly do feel blessed, most days anyways.... LOL.

So, I bared my flesh, and prepared for the worst. You know what? It didn't hurt at all. Mine was not nearly as big or detailed as Anne's, but for my first, it was great. It felt like a cat scratch. Really. They say that women have a higher pain tolerance then men. Well, I am glad that I did it. It was for me. So, in my next post, I will put the pictures up for you to see.

Much love,
~Glenda~

Oh to be young again...

I am sitting here watching my cats play. We have had Liza since, well, since I didn't have David! LOL We adopted her not long after we split. Dave is allergic to cats..... Well, I thought that Liza might be bored all by herself, so when I saw this little kitten at the pet supply store ( adoptions through "Fixed Fur Life") well, I fell in love. I have never had a kitten, really. I didn't realize the amount of energy they have. Right now, she is "stalking" Liza and getting ready to pounce! Her name was originally Pearl, but after we got her home, we felt another name was in order. Sooo, Tootsie was born! She is like having another baby, as she keeps me up late and wakes me up in the middle of the night. She is very affectionate - she is always trying to lick my face!
Liza took her time getting used to her. We introduced them VERY slowly, in tiny little doses. There was a lot of hissing and growls from Liza, but eventually, they became friends. They wrestle and play. Cute, but not when I am trying to get the kids to sleep! I will try to post a picture of her with this....

So, I wish I had her energy, but not her fur problem. Plus, she farts. Yup. Farts. Kitten farts which are not as cute as a baby fart. I have said fart enough.

Scrapbooking tomorrow night, after the babies arrive at Dave's. My workshop is coming along nicely! It is amazing how much room we have with all of Dad's tools gone. I am sure somewhere he is rolling his eyes at the thought of a scrapbook/giftwrapping room, but it is something mom and I have wanted for a long time. We worked VERY hard on that workshop. We deserve it.

Well, here are some pics of Tootsie and I.

I hope all is well where you are tonight. Know that I love you, even if I don't know you.

For Shane, on his birthday

"Your Song"

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

Love you so much friend, Hope you enjoyed your day. Can't wait to see you and Jen soon.

On location - in Ottawa!

Hello All! I am visiting Cori (Sarah and I, that is...) and tonight we will be leaving for home. Some of Darren's family is coming for a night, and rather than wake them when we leave really early, I will scoot tonight when it is bedtime for magoo(aka Sarah).

Cori is feeling good, and if I get my act together, I may put up an ultrasound pic for your viewing pleasure.

Darren is in Tuktayuktuk - yup, wayyyy up north. He will be gone a week, so Grandma is coming up tomorrow.

I am getting excited about school starting. I am eager to get back to a routine, as the days go by faster. I am also eager to see what Gareth and Sarah will be learning. Gareth is starting Grade two, and Sarah, grade one. She is already used to going full days, but the work will be more of a challenge for her, and she is ready!!!!

They are getting so big - it is happening so fast that even I notice changes on a daily basis. Gareth has a mouthful of new teeth, and a bunch of new freckles. Sarah is all legs, which could prove to be a problem for me later on in her teens! More pictures to come soon.

Well, got run, but I will be home soon, and hopefully back on track with the blog. Feel free to comment and to remind me to post.

Love to you all!

Where did my summer go?

Um, no offence to August babies, but I really hate to see August 1st roll around. It means that my summer is half over and that the next turn of the calendar shows September, and you know what that means...... I can't even bare to type the word.

So, life has been busy - kids and grown ups alike. Worst of all was yesterday, the hottest day of the year (so far) our air conditioning died. Yup! We are so spoilled that we were almost crying with the heat. We had someone come and look at it. They got it running (blown fuse) only to watch the motor seize. So, luckily for us, they were able to put a new unit in today. Our old one was 27 years old, and a power sucker, so this one will acutally save us money this year. Why didnt we do it sooner? We needed to appreciate what we had. After last night, sweating in the basement, I truly do.

I got my hair cut today. It is just below my chin. I really like it, and I was getting incredibly sick of the length. I know there are so many more options with long, but I love it, so too bad.

Picture to come...
