We had a great time in Toronto! Canada's Wonderland was awesome, but overwhelming. The lines were incredibly long, even for the little kid rides. I had thought we would spend 3 or 4 hours there, but ended up being there for 7 hours! Unbelieveable. Grandma is not a fan of scary, fast paced rides, and I accept that. However, the last ride we went on was The Fly, and the kids and I waited 45 minutes for this one. Each was big enough to go on this baby rollercoster, and I figured I would put the two of them in front of me and watch the fun...
Well, it turned out that you needed one adult for EACH child. Well, explain that to them as we sat at the front of the line. So, I sat them down at the door of the ride (with the employees permission, of course) and ran to do the impossible. I grabbed my mom and told her what was happening. She agreed to come on the ride. She balked a bit, but said if it were for anyone else but the kids, she wouldnt. But she loves them. Soon, you will see how much.
It really was a tame ride. One medium drop at the beginning, and then a bunch of zig zags to getcha going. Well, I should have known when I heard her pray OUTLOUD to St Jude to protect her. She screamed and yelped the entire time. The people in the car (of 4 people) ahead of us turned to watch. I laughed so hard I practically peed my pants. Sarah and I laughed non stop - she loved the ride and hearing Grandma! Gareth simply tried to console his Grandmother, and keep her safe. My hero. Finally the ride ended. We got off, and if not for the kids, she would have cursed me out, right there in public.
No word of a lie, she staggered down the walkway. I, of course, was still laughing. When we saw the photo booth ahead (where you can view and purchase the picture of you on the ride) we wondered what the comotion was. The were laughing. We realized that they were waiting for us. We soon saw why. The picture is the funniest thing I have EVER seen, bar none!
I will be sending this picture the the Ellen show, as she has a segment about such pictures.
