Diary of a crazy person

The story of a woman with three daughters who falls in love with a man with three sons.... - oh, wait, that's the Brady Bunch! Sorry! I guess this is just the ramblings of a woman caught between sanity and chaos. Join me?

She is gone.

My sweet cat Liza was put to sleep tonight. She was very sick, and extremely dehydrated. She had stopped eating, and was too thin. We tried to nurse her back, but it proved to be to much for her. I hated making that decision. I really don't know that it was the right one - I think I gave up on her too soon. I did not want her to suffer.

I adopted her from the Humane society a few months after I had Dave leave and ended our marriage. I named her Liza, for Ms. Manelli, who had recently ditched her dead weight hubby, David Gest. She was company for me when I was alone, and a cat that I had so badly wanted when Davis had been allergic. I guest it was a way for me to seal the fact that he definitely was not coming back, now that I had her.

She never once scratched me, bit me (except for tonight) or hissed at me. Really - never. I had already picked her out when I found that she had been de-clawed in the front, and had already been "fixed". She truly was a no maintenance cat. I love her, but I guess I didn't know how much until tonight. She also is the spitting image of my family cat, Panther.

So, she is in heaven now. And whether you believe in heaven or not, she has to be somewhere better than here.

I already miss her. Dr. Peck gave me some of her fur to keep. They were wonderful at the Quinte Animal Hospital.

When you fall in love with an animal, you have to realize (and most of us don't) that you will have to see that little soul die one day. Whether by humane choice, or by a stroke of cruel luck, we all will do it.

I loved you Liza, and I always will.

Happy New Year!

2007!

Woo Hoo!

Well, let's get on with it!

Lets see.....start with pictures? ok!
Sarah just turned 6, and what do you give to the princess who has everything? Her first pedicure! She and I enjoyed our girls night, after dinner with Gareth and Grandma at Montanas. She was quite the diva, with her chair set for massage and heat. She even got to pick out a cute little design to put on her big toes! The folks at Paris Nails in the Quinte Mall were great, and let me take a lot of pictures! I even had her pick out a colour for my toes too! Oh, and don't forget to notice the gap in her smile! Sarah FINALLY lost her first tooth! Such a big girl now! Next thing you know she'll be asking for a cell phone! HA!~
More pictures and updates later!
